ALL THINGS CONSIDERED

HOLY-ER WEEK The Great Easter Liturgy of Holy Saturday brought Holy Week to its culmination and completion. Easter Sunday begins a week that is even more holy - Easter Week!

Easter Sunday and the next eight days are celebrated as an extension of the Great Easter Liturgy. Not only is there an Easter Sunday, but also an Easter Monday, Easter Tuesday ... In fact, each of the eight days are celebrated as if they are Easter! The Church calendar ranks them on a par with Sunday, and the Gospel of each day over this next week is an account of the resurrection.

In former times, the newly Baptized came to Mass every day of Easter Week. Not only did they come to receive the risen Lord in Communion, but they also wore their white baptismal robe as a sign of the new life they had just received.

I would invite you to take the opportunity to participate in whatever Liturgies of Easter Week you can. It would be a wonderful way share in the life and promise of the resurrection! MANY THANKS to all those who were a part of the Liturgies of the Lord's Passover (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday).

I want to especially thank Steve Schulte and all of the Liturgical Musicians and Singers. We are deeply appreciative of all the time, practice and musical gifts you gave to us to enhance our prayer.

I would like to thank all of our staff (our office, pastoral and maintenance people) who helped prepare so many different aspects of the Holy Week Liturgies.

Thank you to our youth, who along with Richard Switzer (Jesus), acted out the Passion for us on Good Friday and to Colleen Schulte who directed it. Thanks, too, to the readers of the Stations on Good Friday afternoon.

Many thanks to Diane Kubus and all those involved with many changes to our Liturgical environment over all of Holy Week.

Many thanks to all our Liturgical ministers: readers, servers, hospitality, Eucharistic ministers who gave of their time and gifts. All of us who participated in the Liturgies of the Triduum are truly grateful to all those who enhanced our prayer and enabled us to experience and celebrate the mystery of the Lord's passion, death and resurrection!

Fr. Dave Howell

He is Risen

May this Easter be a special time for every family member of St. Mary Magdalen to experience the graces, joy, peace and love of the Lord! Happy Easter from the Staff.
