ALL THINGS CONSIDERED

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our younger sisters and brothers who received the gift of the Eucharist for the first time this weekend.

Along with all the people who have been praying for you over these last several months, I want to wish you every blessing. We hope that you will continue to grow in the Gift you have received today! THE DIOCESAN SERVICES APPEAL We began this annual appeal last weekend and Mike Polcyn reminded us of all the good DSA accomplishes.

Most of us have received a letter and brochure from the bishop which highlighted some of the services supported by our gifts and pledges. This year our parish goal is $64,818, so I hope you will be generous in your support. SPRING CLEAN UP This annual event will take place next Saturday, May 13. With enough help, most of the work is completed in 3-4 hours. The work will start at 9:00am. If you can help, please come! If you can bring your own garden tools that would be helpful too! A NEW RECTORY RESIDENT Since last spring, there has only been me and few spiders & assorted bugs living in the rectory. That changed a week ago.

It started Good Friday evening. After the Liturgy I was asked if I would like a dog! The owner had developed a severe allergy to the dog so the pooch needed a new home. So, on Easter Thursday evening the spiders and I had a new companion.

Rory is a 14 month old golden retriever pup with lots of energy. He is reasonably well behaved, but really likes people so he does get excited to meet new folks. I am sure you will eventually have the opportunity to meet him.

In the meantime, I have discovered that my daily routines have changed a bit. I find myself walking the parish grounds more often. I have also found that carrying a plastic bag with me makes it easier to pick up some of the trash I find along the way! It's all great fun!

Baptism

During the month of April, we celebrated the sacrament of Baptism with Salvatore Joseph Curcuru, son of Joseph and Pamela Curcuru; Jacob Lawrence Henderlong, son of Shawn and Susan Henderlong; Nels Arthur Erickson, son of Steven and Kathleen Erickson; Rita Helen Erickson, daughter of Steven and Kathleen Erickson; and Nathanael James Heppler, son of Ronald and Lynnda Heppler.
