ALL THINGS CONSIDERED
YEAR END EVALUATION
On June 19, our Pastoral & Finance Councils and all our ministry teams involved with planning will come together. Using our Vision Statement, we will evaluate all of our accomplishments from this past year and evaluate our success in achieving the goals we set for ourselves last September. This becomes the last meeting of those who are leaving ministry teams and the first meeting of those who are joining. While the new people may not feel like they have much to contribute to the discussion, it is important for everyone to participate. The review of the years efforts serves as an orientation to new members, helping them better understand the work of the ministry team. The gathering also helps prepare us for the September goal-setting meeting: DIRECTIONS 2003.
The evening will begin with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 7 pm in church and continue in the social hall! New and departing members of our councils, Adult Formation, Charity & Justice, Community Life, Parish Health, Properties, Religious Formation and Worship are asked to mark June 19 on their calendars!
THE FUTURE
Many people are unaware that our present worship area is intended to be temporary. Eventually a larger church will be built directly in front of our present building. Before we ever started to build, we spent a great deal of time projecting our future growth. So far, our projections have been fairly accurate. While there are fewer registered families than we projected, the numbers of those attending Sunday Liturgy and Religious Ed are right on the mark.
If the present economic situation holds, we will outgrow our present building around 2005. Fortunately, we are also projected to pay off our mortgage about the same time!! By the end of the month, we will have paid off $2.2 million of our debt, leaving under $1.5 million remaining! Thanks to the faithful stewardship of so many, our mortgage will be paid off THREE years ahead of schedule.
According to our master plan, our future church will be built between the front door and the statue of Mary. The new main entrance will be directly off the parking lot. The new church will seat 1200 (thats why we expanded the parking lot). The present worship area will become our "great hall", a social hall that will seat 200-450, and fourteen rooms for Religious Ed. The present hall will be converted to permanent classrooms, giving us a total of 24-26 rooms for education and meetings. The offices will expand into the chapel; rooms 1-3 will become the Adult Formation\parlor area, the nursery will double in size and the present Adult Formation Room will become the library\conference room.
Just thought youd like a vision of the future!

Our First Annual Quilt Show in the Barn
will take place TODAY from 10 to 4 in the parish barn. Sample quilts from all seven years of our Scripture and Stitches will be on display, as well as quilts we have made for family and friends to commemorate special occasions. There will be refreshments and quilt-related activities for children in the pavilion.I have been taking time off to enjoy the company of my parents, in from Arizona for the graduation of my daughter Cathy! This weekend more of my family will be in from Oregon and Virginia, and along with them I would like to congratulate all of our Seniors on this big occasion! Though, like me, Im sure your parents are not old enough to have kids graduating! My sister Michele tells me that Im getting old, but one thing she has to remember, she will ALWAYS be older than me!

Id like to share with you parables written by two of our Thursday 3rd graders: Nicholas L. writes, The Kingdom of God can be as small as a grain of wheat, but with help it can become a loaf of bread. Andrew L. writes, The Kingdom of God is like a little mustard seed, but with help it can grow into a large bush. Take time to help the Kingdom to grow this week! Have a good one!
