People with Certain Medical Conditions:

The CDC lowered the threshold to a BMI over 30 as a risk factor for severe disease (rather than BMI of 40). It is easier to reach a BMI of 30 than people may realize. In other words, a 35yo with a BMI of 35 should be considered at risk just as you would consider someone with type 2 diabetes.  See https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html

The Wellness Ministry consists of THREE separate ministries.

THE SAMARITANS
These volunteers provide short term assistance for our parishioners in basic areas such as: Meals, funeral luncheons, Household help during a crisis, Transportation to Mass, appointments and errands, and Emergency babysitting.

THE HEALTH MINISTRY
This team is made up of several health professionals who focus on the parish community's health of body, mind and spirit. Some of the activities include: Blood pressure screening, Flu shot clinics, CPR training classes, and health resources that include information, education and programs.

THE BEFRIENDER MINISTRYThese ministers are supervised, lay people who are trained to be pastoral listeners.
Unlike friends and family, they provide Strict confidentiality, A mutually agreed upon setting and duration, Listening with non-judgmental acceptance, and Eucharistic outreach. "We never have to go through any situation alone."
